Introduction
Anquet Maps on CD ROM provide the perfect solution for planning walks or cycle routes for day trips or longer itineraries. Anquet users can plan routes, plot them on the maps and instantly calculate distance travelled, height gained and walking time. Route descriptions and profiles can also be created. Users can print maps, profiles and route descriptions to use en route and can download routes to their GPS. Maps and routes can also be transferred to Pocket PC or Smartphone to use in the field.
Easy to use mapping software
Learn to use in minutes. Instruction manual provided plus comprehensive on-screen help text. Move round the map and change map type or scale at the click of a mouse. Full index to place names helps you to go instantly to your chosen location.
Route planning
Place waypoints, plot routes, add directions, information and personal notes. View height and distance information. Calculate journey times and height gain, and display route profiles. Save routes and e-mail to your friends or post on the Anquet website.
Data management
The Anquet Data Explorer provides a set of powerful data management tools with which users can maintain detailed records on routes and waypoints and re-organise them effortlessly as required. Different databases can be assigned different default properties such as route colour and icon type.
3D mapping
The Anquet Virtual Landscape provides superb, seamless 3D map views. Fly over the Virtual Landscape in any direction or follow your route in 3D on the map of your choice.
Synchronised Split-Screen
Using the Split Screen you can view any pair of maps at the same time. The two maps can be synchronised so that movement in one screen will be replicated in the other. With the two maps at different scales the area being viewed at the larger scale is shown as an outline box on the smaller scale map. Either or both screens can view the 3D Virtual Landscape.
Unlimited printing
Print maps of your walking or cycling routes to take out with you. You select the scale and the area covered. Print route notes and information. Manage the arrangement of pages for longer multi-page routes. The software license permits unlimited printing, at A4 size, for personal use.
GPS
Export routes to your GPS unit. Data collected while on the hill can be reviewed on your PC when you return.
Anquet and your Pocket PC and Smartphone
Export maps to your Pocket PC or Smartphone then create, save and navigate routes in the field. The Anquet LiveTrack positioning system displays your position in real time on the map. The Anquet Virtual GPSTM displays current position, altitude, bearing, waypoint name, direction arrow, distance to next waypoint and distance to the end of the route at the touch of a button, uniquely combining GPS functionality and high quality OS Landranger ® and/or ExplorerTM maps in one application.
Pocket Anquet for Pocket PC runs on any Pocket PC with Windows Mobile for Pocket PC 2003 or Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC.
Anquet and your GPS
Transferring data to or from your GPS unit is a very quick process, with a number of options available for you to control the amount of data that is transferred. Waypoints and routes that you have created can be transferred to your GPS unit. You can download tracklogs, waypoints and routes captured by your GPS. After download you can review modify and store your data within the Anquet system. Saving your GPS data to your Anquet Maps frees up space on your GPS unit, and, of course, allows you to email the route to friends, or post it on the Anquet website.
